The Establishment is definitely after the Controversial French comedian and social critic Dieudonne M’bala M’bala,or Dieudonne, as he is known.
More than Satisfied
In November Dieudonne was sentenced to two months in jail by a Belgian court for comments he made during a show in Liege in 2012. The comments, deemed too controversial to be repeated by BBC News, were tagged as “Anti-Semitic.” All the BBC would mysteriously announce was that, “The court ruled all the accusations against Dieudonne were established.”
But other news outlets described the offensive language; ie. calling Hitler a “joyful braggart,” a “sweet kid,” “calling into question the Nazi gas chambers,” and making a negative comment on the Talmud.
In the past, Mr. M’Bala M’Bala has raised his voice either in support of Holocaust Revisionism or in protest against the oppression of Palestinians. The verdict was gleefully cheered by Eric Lemmens, a lawyer for Belgium’s Jewish organizations,” For me this is more than satisfying, this is a major victory,” Ibid. A major victory for Censorship. A Major Defeat for Free Speech.
The Establishment seems terrified by Dieudonne, not by his irreverence to Holocaust Belief and support for Palestinian rights, but by his widespread support among the young, and Black and Islamic groups. The standard smear of “Racist” used against Revisionist scholars seems inadequate against the Black Frenchman. The frenzy against Dieudonne rose to a crescendo in 2013 after French footballer Nicolas Anelka was banned for five matches by English football authorities for using a gesture created by Dieudonné that many consider to echo the Nazi salute.
Black, soccer-player, anti-Holocaust Belief, young….the images provoked fear in the Establishment and a string of bannings, lawsuits, and criminal charges smacked Dieudonne in a frantic attempt to stifle his iconoclastic message.
The Twisted Logic of the European Courts
The absurdity and dishonesty of the Anti-Dieudonne frenzy can be seen in the twisted logic of to the European Court of Human Rights opinion in the 2015 Dieudonne case.
In December 2008, Dieudonne finished a performance by inviting a prominent Holocaust denier on stage and then having an actor dressed to resemble a concentration camp prisoner offer him a prize.Dieudonne was convicted of hate crime charges by a French court in October 2009 and fined €10,000. He lost repeated appeals, and took his case to the Strasbourg-based European Court of Human Rights.
Amazingly, the ECHR upheld the conviction on the grounds that denying Holocaust Belief “could always be seen as a form of incitement to racial hatred.”
The dishonesty of the decision was underscored by the Court’s October 15 reversal of a conviction of a Turkish politician who Denied the Genocide of Arminians.
In its self-laudatory press release the ECHR announced “In a landmark free speech ruling, the ECHR held that Doğu Perinçek, chairman of Turkey’s Patriotic party, should never have been convicted of racial discrimination by a Swiss court for saying that the “Armenian genocide is a great international lie.”
Western governments have piously lectured the rest of the World on how the West protects Free Speech (as in the Perinçek case.) The continued persecution of Dieudonne is an example of the hypocrisy and dishonesty of Western governments. Maybe they think the rest of the World won’t notice?
